Community Guidelines
What's not allowed
We don't allow content or behavior that:
Harms people
- Harassment, bullying, or threats of any kind, against any person.
- Hate speech or content that promotes hatred against people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or disability.
- Doxxing — sharing someone's private information (home address, phone, email, financial info) without consent.
- Stalking or unwanted contact through friend requests, comments, or messages.
Is illegal or unsafe
- Content that promotes or facilitates illegal activity, violence, self-harm, or harm to others.
- Sale or solicitation of regulated goods (drugs, firearms, etc.).
- Sexually explicit content, content depicting minors in any sexualized way, or non-consensual intimate imagery.
Is dishonest
- Fake reviews. Reviews must reflect a real, first-hand experience.
- Impersonation of any person, business, or organization.
- Manipulating engagement — coordinated voting, fake accounts, or buying inflated activity.
- Misleading place data — wrong addresses, fake businesses, knowingly inaccurate hours or prices.
Hurts the community
- Spam — repeated, irrelevant, or commercial promotional content posted without permission.
- Off-topic mass posting — using lists or reviews to push agendas unrelated to travel.
- Scraping or automated activity that violates our Terms of Service.
- Circumventing bans — creating new accounts after being suspended.
Violates rights
- Intellectual property infringement (using photos, text, or other content you don't own or have permission to use).
- Privacy violations — posting photos of identifiable people without their consent in a private setting.
What we expect
- Be honest. If you've been to a place, share what was real. If you haven't, don't pretend you have.
- Be kind. Disagreement is fine; cruelty isn't.
- Be respectful of place owners. Restaurants, hotels, and small businesses are often run by people who read these reviews.
- Respect copyright. Use your own photos when possible, and credit sources when you don't.
Reporting
If you see content that violates these Guidelines, you can report it from inside the app (long-press on a list, place, review, or comment → Report), or email hello@trippple.travel with a link or description of the content.
We review every report. We don't share the identity of reporters with the people they reported.
Enforcement
Depending on the severity and pattern of the violation, we may:
- Warn the user
- Remove the offending content
- Limit account features (e.g., posting, messaging)
- Suspend the account temporarily
- Permanently terminate the account
For severe violations (e.g., illegal content, threats of violence, child safety violations), we will skip warnings and act immediately, and we will report to law enforcement when required by law.
If you believe your content was removed in error, you can appeal by emailing hello@trippple.travel with the relevant link or context.
Updates
We may update these Guidelines as Trippple evolves. Material changes will be announced in the app and reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
